These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ScienceBowl Practice website located at sciencebowl.org (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you are using the Service on behalf of a team, school, or organization, you represent you have authority to bind that entity.
Certain features may require a Firebase-authenticated account. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of unauthorized use.

Where the Service allows you to submit content (e.g., custom questions, notes, or progress data), you retain ownership of that content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display that content solely for operating and improving the Service. You represent you have the rights necessary to grant this license and that your content does not infringe third-party rights.
The Service, including software, design, and compilation, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Except for limited rights expressly granted, no license or transfer of ownership is implied. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or modification is prohibited.
The Service relies on Google Cloud Platform and Firebase. Your use of Firebase Authentication and related functionality is also subject to Google’s applicable terms. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services linked from the Service.
If you provide ideas, suggestions, or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them without obligation or compensation.
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant the accuracy of question content, scoring, or availability of the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from or relating to your use of the Service. Our aggregate liability will not exceed the greater of (a) amounts you paid (if any) in the 6 months preceding the claim or (b) USD $50.
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to (a) your content, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right.
We may suspend or terminate access immediately for suspected violations, legal compliance, security risks, or prolonged inactivity. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections intended to survive (IP, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity) shall survive termination.
We may modify features or these Terms. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, providing notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator is established, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Where consumer protection laws apply, you retain mandatory protections of your local jurisdiction.
